10mm White 8 Strand Nylon Mooring Rope Strop – 3.5m with Stainless Thimble & 6″ Protected Soft Eye This 10mm white 8 strand nylon mooring rope strop is designed for reliable, high-load mooring applications. Supplied in a 3.5 metre length, it is professionally spliced with a 6 inch protected soft eye at one end and a stainless steel thimble spliced at the other, providing durability and protection at both connection points. Manufactured from octoplait 8 strand nylon, this mooring strop offers excellent shock absorption and strength, making it ideal for use on mooring buoys and fixed moorings where load variation and movement are expected. The rope has an approximate break load of 2,309 kg prior to splicing. Please note, the colour of the protective sleeving may vary. If you require a specific colour, please contact us before ordering. Why choose 8 strand nylon instead of 3 strand? 8 strand nylon rope will not buckle or kink under load, offering smoother handling and better performance when moored. It also provides superior shock-loading characteristics compared to traditional 3 strand rope. Key Features Construction: 8 strand octoplait nylon One end: 6 inch protected soft eye splice Other end: Stainless steel thimble splice Approximate rope break load prior to splice: 2,309 kg Performance Benefits Does not float Water resistant with zero water absorption High strength and excellent abrasion resistance Excellent shock load absorption Very good knot holding ability Resistant to UV radiation Resists rot and mildew Good insulation properties Typical Use Mooring strops are used to connect a vessel to a mooring buoy or fixed point. The strop should be long enough to prevent the chain from contacting the boat, but not excessively long, ensuring safe, controlled mooring and reduced wear on fittings and hull. This 10mm nylon mooring strop is well suited to demanding marine environments where strength, durability, and shock absorption are essential. If you require a shackle to suit, please see here.
